RAW Talks at The Showman's Show

RAW Bottles wins Green Supplier and Innovation Award

Last week RAW Bottles attended The Showman’s Show for the first time, and we were delighted to come home with an award recognising our commitment to sustainability.

The Green Supplier and Innovation Award is now in its fourth year, and this year the awards were judged live at the event for the very first time.

Pitching to a panel of industry experts

Along with the other two shortlisted exhibitors – Enviro-Cup and MSS International – we took to the stage to deliver a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style presentation to a panel of sustainability champions and experts.

The panel included Claire O’Neill from A Greener Festival, Catherine Bottrill of Julie’s Bicycle, Paul Read from AIF and Steve Heap of AFO.

Johnny Lance, event director of the Showman’s Show said: “The Green Supplier and Innovation Award has proved to be hugely popular with companies who are keen to shout about their green credentials. The award is as much about companies who are implementing best sustainability practice, as it is about individual products and services.”

RAW Talks programme on pointless plastic

After winning the award on day one of The Showman’s Show, we spent day two hosting a series of RAW Talks, addressing the steps events can take to become free of ‘pointless plastic’.

RAW Bottles took to the stage again to join a range of suppliers presenting their plastic-free or plastic smart solutions and services, including Green Goblet, FRANK Water and Ohoo, an innovative packaging solution for drinks.

We also hosted a panel discussion with festivals Shambala and Cropedy, discussing the benefits of eliminating single use plastics at events, and revealing how everyone can take effective action.

Ed Gillespie, co-founder of pioneering global sustainability change agency Futerra, author, and prolific social entrepreneur, provided a powerful keynote talk. Ed outlined the key ways in which business can be a powerful force for good when it combines creativity, compassion and courage to solve real problems.
